WordPress experiencing unexplained technical difficulties

  • When I try to access my WordPress account I have the following notification on a blank screen ‘The site is experiencing technical difficulties. Please check your site admin email inbox for instructions.’ This happened after trying to update plugins, there was an issue updating the Yoast SEO plugin and then the message appeared and I could no longer log back in. I have not received the email to understand the details of what has gone wrong or how to fix it. My sites url is vegansonabudget.com

    Hi there,

    Try manually resetting your plugins (no Dashboard access required). If that resolves the issue, reactivate each one individually until you find the cause.

    If that does not resolve the issue, access your server via SFTP or FTP, or a file manager in your hosting account’s control panel, navigate to /wp-content/themes/ and rename the directory of your currently active theme. This will force the default theme to activate and hopefully rule-out a theme-specific issue (theme functions can interfere like plugins).

    This can be shown because of missing semicolon after function call check this in function.php
    e.g site_url()
