WordPress ex-multisite not working

Hello guys…

I did all the steps to convert my site to a multisite in wordpress and it worked, but I noticed that was not what I needed so followed a guide to reverse it and it seemed to work but now when I enter my homepage it sometimes works just fine and it sometimes says something like “the admin of this multisite is not allowing registration” when entering the home page (menu works fine and if you go to another page it suddenly works). I still see the network menu on the wp-admin so I guess it didn’t go all away (although it doesn’t bother me, I just want the page to look ok to the customers)
I’m using astra wp theme, in case it somehow helps…

Do anyone has any idea on how to remove this problem? I will try to screenshot it if it appears to me again…

I’m considering copying the site with something like updraft or duplicator, erase everything and restoring it… would that help? (although I’d like not to do this if possible just in case I break everything…)
