I was told to try using this plugin to help with not being able to send out emails. My host is godaddy and I tried configuring in this plugin but says:
    smtpout.secureserver.net:465 Closed No

That is what I’m supposed to use though with GoDaddy.

When I try to send a test email, it fails.

I’ve also tried configuring my smtp setting through wp-mail-smtp but no luck there either.

    Any help is appreciated!

Did you use the Wizard to setup your email? Still no luck?

I believe GoDaddy’s internal SMTP server is relay-hosting.secureserver.net, not smtpout.secureserver.net. The Postman wizard should have mentioned that to you.

I changed to relay-hosting.secureserver.net and still failed trying to send a test email from postman. I am trying to paste the log in here but isn’t doing it.

I can see all the attempts from test emails or from the contact form 7 itself in the log. The session transcripts either say:
This is the conversation between Postman and the mail server. It can be useful for diagnosing problems. DO NOT post it on-line, it may contain your account password.

    smtps:login://smtpout.secureserver.net:465

All emails are getting refused. I just made a new user for someone so they can at least look at the log to see what requests are coming in and those showed up in the log as connection refused.

Any other info I can give you to help?

Well it appears you have no connection to GoDaddy’s email server.

    smtpout.secureserver.net:465 Closed No

If you see Closed No for relay-hosting.secureserver.net, that’s not going to work as well.

I’m not sure why your website doesn’t have a connection to GoDaddy’s email server, but that’s got nothing to do with this plugin.

What if you trying using Gmail? Perhaps you can connect to Google via HTTPS?

Yeah, I’m not sure why that is closed since that’s how it set it up when I put it on my phone and email on my mac. But for whatever reason that seems to be closed between wordpress and GoDaddy. I did do the set-up wizard again and just went no-secure port 25 with no authentication and now it is working.

These are just contact forms with nothing that is secure so I’m just happy it works for now. Your plugin is great so thank you for all your help. I’m confused why on GoDaddy it says to use smtpout.secureserver.net but only works with what you said –
relay-hosting.secureserver.net. But it is what it is, just glad I”m back and working after about 3 weeks of not working.

Well your phone and email are outside of GoDaddy, while you’re website is inside GoDaddy, it’s common then that they have different servers to use.

    smtpout (outside) relay-hosting (inside).

    Glad you got it working!

If I wanted to find a secure port to go through on GoDaddy, would it be best if I reached out to their support?

I had the same issue and your wizard and video worked like a charm.

    Thanks Jason.
