This occurred on two separate sites while showing the abilities of UM to a friend for his site. As soon as he activates UM the black bar at the top disappears upon refreshing the browser for me the editor, but not him the administrator.

We tried it on my site and it did the same thing. This time I switched the role from administrator to editor and the black bar would disappear upon browser refresh.

Summary: Editors lose the ability to edit the site if UM is activated.

Use the UM Role setting to edit the Editor role:

The black bar is back at the top, but when I click on Dashboard, the dashboard does not come up.

What happens when you click the Dashboard? Does it redirect you to the /Wp-admin/ page? Could you please provide a screenshot of the User Role settings including the Capabilities section? You can upload the screenshot via imgur.com and then share the image URL here so we can review it.

When I click on dashboard the screen flashes and goes back to the same exact screen. It does not redirect me to the wp-admin page.

Hi @genelaratonda

The role settings can be found in WP Admin > Ultimate Member > User Roles > Edit the role of the user that has the issue > see “Capabilities”. Take a screenshot of it and then share it here so we can review it.

Please try editing the Role that has the issue. Once you edit the role, you will see the “Capabilities” section at the bottom part of the edit page. Take a screenshot of it and then share the image here so we can review it.

I see the issue now. Editor role did not have access to wp-admin. Thank you. This is resolved.
