WordPress Editor Stripping Divs

  • I use snippets of html to markup images neatly when writing my articles, but since upgrading to wordpress 2.3.1 wordpress editor is converting my divs to paragraphs when I swap between code and visual tabs.

    I have also had reports from fellow staff memebers of their markup being totally stuffed around since the wordpress upgrade.

    Yes, it does do that. It’s intentional, I believe.

    Don’t use the visual editor if you don’t want it to change your code.

    I believe it was done to fix some older (non-xhtml?) themes. It’s removed in WP 2.4.

    Does anyone know the file that would contain the code that strips elements like ‘div’ ?? I would like to modify it so I can use that element.
