WordPress don’t run … Got parse error messages

  • My wordpress crashed.. Need hint about the problem and how to fix it.

    I got error message like this when trying to access the website :

    Parse error: parse error, unexpected $ in /home/content/t/a/n/tantam/html/index.php on line 18

    I also get error messages like this when trying to access the wp-login
    to get into the dashboard :

    Parse error: parse error, unexpected $ in /home/content/t/a/n/tantam/html/wordpress/wp-includes/default-filters.php

    I’m using godaddy hosting.
    I try to uninstall the wordpress and reinstall it.
    The problem seems to be fix and the wordpress running smoothly again.
    But after 3 days the problem come again. And I got the same
    error messages like before.

    I’m a newbie with wordpress. I really appreciate for the help.

  • 1. Have you edited any files after the install?

    2. Did you uploaded all the wordpress files, control check?

    3. Is the theme you are using fully working, if not using the default of course?

    4. No tables in the database hasn’t crashed?

    5. If you found all these things to be “allright”, I suggest you ask your host

    1. No, i didn’t edit any files

    2. I’m install using the quick installation / cpanel from the host

    3. The theme i’m using is fully working before, i don’t use any new theme

    4. I think the database are the new one because when we uninstall the host remove the aplication and the database used, so when we install the application again the database should be the new one

    5. I’m ask the host but they told me to ask the wordpress guy

    I’m getting the same problem. Using GoDaddy as well. I’d made no changes between the time the files were last working (about a week ago) and when I discovered today that I couldn’t access the admin panel or main page.

    I guess it is something with your host that is causing the problem since you are saying that it worked in the start but stopped working without doing nothing. I guess support from GoDaddy was included in the bill…. Well use it!
