WordPress doesn’t keep paragraphs?!

  • My wordpress has randomly started to loose formatting whenever I create a new post / page or edit an old one.

    For example, when I create a post with multiple paragraphs and then publish it wordpress removes all the paragraphs so it’s one big block of text. If I edit the code and manually add the paragraphs tags in myself then it’s fine.

    Anyone have any ideas how to fix this and why it’s randomly started doing it? I had no problems before.

  • Just a guess, but I had similar issues when I had visual editor enabled. Lots of my coded formatting would be gone every time I went in to edit entries (because even though you can switch to code mode, it defaults on visual)

    Go into your user profile, and uncheck “use the visual editor when writing”. Granted, if you like the visual editor, this may not be a good option, but if you prefer to use code, this will lead to far fewer unknown hiccups in my experience.
