WordPress Discussion Tab

When you edit a page in WordPress, under the textarea where you type the content, there should be tabs–Custom Fields, Discussion, Comments, Author, and Revisions. There is none of those! I need them because I want to not allow any comments. So is there any way I could get these tabs to appear, or hide the comments option?
