• I’m sure this question has been asked before, but I’ve looked for the answer in this forum, and frankly, I’m tired. So I’ll just ask the question again. I want to make my weblog my index page, however, the wordpress download comes in this neat directory with a horrible name. I thought that maybe just moving the index out of the wordpress directory and putting it in my index directory would do the trick, but it didn’t. All the comment linsk and such acted as though broken. Is there anyway that I can make my weblog my index page without destroying the whole blog. Right now my weblog is here. Please be specific, as I varely got through the installation. I have no idea what I am doing, so detailed instructions would be best at this point. Thanks in advance.

I tried that, but I did not work. I uploaded everything in the wordpress directory, but it did not work, plus it took me about half and hour to delete it all again and start from scratch.

I would suggest reading through the 5-minute install on the Wiki.
    The basic steps are:
Upload all of the WP files and folders into a folder of your choice on your web server.
Edit the wp-config.php file to ensure that WP can access your SQL database.
Open your browser, and navigate to http : //example.com/wp/wp-admin/install.php note that you should obviously change example.com to your domain name, and the wp to whatever folder you uploaded the WordPress files and folders to.
    HTH.
    Craig.
