Those styles are used for the watermark, title, download, and embed overlays and are not tied to a particular player. Disabling them could lead to problems.

I’m working on a GUI for the shortcode that uses new built-in WP functions. It will be available in the next major release, which will be several months from now.

Thanks for you response. But…I want this plugin only in admin interface and for generating thumbnails, which is great. So in options in plugin there should bey some checkbox for disable load “kgvid_video_styles” (yes I know wp_dequeue_style). As you write about new GUI, look at awesome “shortcake ui” or maybe you can write script for own OEMBED tinymce generation of video block ( if I paste attachment url of video or url local /uploads/ video file).

Anyway – look at this amazing player -> https://github.com/Selz/plyr
which can replace jw player 6-7:)

I see. I don’t currently offer the option to only use the plugin in the admin area. Feel free to manually dequeue the CSS files if you’re not using the shortcode at all. You’re not the first to ask for this and I will probably offer the option in the future.

Shortcake UI is no longer necessary for creating shortcode GUIs. As of version 4.2, WordPress has built-in systems for the functionality you’re looking for and I will be using them.

JW Player has a massive user base, which counts for a lot. It looks nice and functional, but I don’t know if Plyr (with 80 WordPress plugin users) can replace it just yet.
