WordPress database error: [Got a packet bigger than ‘max_allowed_packet’ bytes]

Ok, well I transferred everything over to my new hosting company and I got this error. I set the max_allowed to 16M which is more than enough, and I still get this error.

I have no idea whats going on, I have tried a lot of stuff and I am still getting this error, you help will be appreciated.
