  • Isn’t one supposed to backup their database BEFORE upgrading, eliminating the need for a kind of script like this? ??

Kidding of course though as I bet plenty of people didn’t follow the instructions and backup. ??

You probably should backup, but you know, there’s a number of people who never do, so scripts like this have their place.

And will be gratefully accepted, no doubt. Good job. ??

Well, instead of the user is stupid, how about the user is doing the best he or she can. In my case, on a remote server, a backup is created.

Restoring prior versions of the program AND the database requires considerable skills. Without referring to anything, can you quickly tell me how to restore one database from a complete CPANEL compressed backup. Without exploring it, just the quick, concise, correct steps, please?

Before a have to be quick, concise, and correct, can I ask:
    1. Is it just one database or just one table that you want to restore?

    2. Was your backup originally accomplished with phpMyAdmin?
