WordPress Data Restoring

  • Hi, I was trying to import my backup WordPress Data, everything was successful but I’m unable to restore the images, I get a notification says ‘failed to import images‘ what causes the problem

    How exactly did you build the backup you attempted to restore?

    i export it directly under tools

    That’s only for moving your content from one site to another, it’s not a complete backup.

    It only contains post, page, and comment text. That’s why the file is so small. Within the posts and pages, it references the URLs of any attached images from the original site, and if that site is still online, the importing site downloads them from the original site.

    If the original is no longer online, or the images are otherwise gone, then unless you have a complete backup, they’re gone for good.
