    Hi,
I have been struggling to understand what does a CMS enabled Press Theme means? The WordPress dashboard is fairly comprehensive and does all basic functions such as editing, modifying the content including text, images and rich media.

I wish to know if there are specific CMS enabled WordPress themes and what essential functions do they achieve which a dashboard does not do?

Basically, difference between WordPress Dashboard vs WordPress CMS?

When you create websites for clients, the WordPress Dashboard can be confusing for them. That’s why I allways install the CMS plugin by Trendwerk. This plugin removes all the info in the dasbhoard and you can put your own info there.
If you uses WordPress as a blog or website for yourself, then you don’t really have to do this.

Thanks a lot Nico Julius for your quick reply.

One more clarification – in terms of pure functionalities, are there are advantages with CMS based themes?

I am creating a website for myself (my own venture). I am exploring all options at this point time. The dashboard will be used by me and I am quite comfortable with that. Going by your response, I assume I can manage with WordPress Dashboard combined with some additional plugins. What do you suggest? I am not a techie and hence CSS, HTML is beyond me!

Some of the CMS based themes have some more options. For example, for my blog I use a Woothemes theme. It has some extra functionalities where I should normaly install some extra plugins for.

If you’re comfortable with the dashboard, there’s no need for a change, just keep your theme and install some extra plugins.

If you want to know which plugins are interesting, I wrote an article about my favourite WordPress plugins.
