wordpress dashboard not working correctly after wp4.3 install

After installing wp ver 4.3, I found that the dashboard performs abnormally. For example, when an icon is selected, say pages, and wp moves to the pages screen, the pages icon on the dashboard slides down a bit and covers the icon below it. This seems to happen no matter which icon you choose, making navigation through the dashboard difficult and confusing.

I have disabled all the plugins and installed the 2015 theme, but the problem persisted.

I have gotten an occasional javascript error in chrome when running the dashboard, but no errors show in my server logs. I also had problems with updating a plugin, got no response to click on update button, so I manually installed the update.
