• Hi,

    I’ve started to notice that for the past month or so there never was any updates available (WordPress, plugins, etc) in the plugins area of WordPress and on the dashboard.

    Today I decided to manually validate this and noticed that everything was out of date. I’ve upgraded WP to version 4.9.2 but the problem persisted. Still can’t see the indication that there are updates.

    I’ve started updating the plugins manually, but the problem doesn’t go away.

    Any ideas why this is happening?

    Cheers!

  • Thank you @rfmcomposer ! I’ve been searching for a solution for quite awhile and nothing worked. I haven’t identified which plugin was causing the issue since I’m not using the White Label CMS plugin but your solution of disabling all plugins allows the WordPress core to upgrade.

    Simply rename the plugins folder to something like plugins.old, update the WordPress core (it’s now available – yay!), and rename the plugins.old back to plugins. It’s much quicker than manually updating WordPress – and much safer too.

    I have solved the problem for me in a very unintended way. I moved the wordpress multisite network from a nginx to apache machine and all automatic update notifications are working again without any further changes!

    Also… cPanel & WHM? Site Software was causing the issue for me… funny thing is site had BOTH plugins installed HAHA

    I ran into a similar issue and I found that I needed to change DISALLOW_FILE_MODS to false in wp-config.php.

    define( 'DISALLOW_FILE_MODS', false );
