• Hi, I’m really not an expert when it comes into this kind of stuff. I just wanted to know what is happening on my site. The body styles are deleted: https://lifeunsettled.com/

And my wordpress dashboard kind of messed up. There’s no dropdown on my dashboard menus when I hover my mouse, and some of it are looking weird and lost in positions. Take a look at here: https://i.imgur.com/wbQciv5.png

I reinstalled my theme and framework. WordPress are updated.

deactivate your plugins and reactivate them one at a time and see if and when the problem comes back. if it comes back after activating a specific plugin you’ve found the problem.

Yeah. I’ve been trying that all week and nothing happens. Is there anything else that I can try?

what version of wp are you running? you say it’s updated so i assume it’s 4.0.

what plugins are you running and what theme are you using?

Hello, I had the theme “adventurous” installed. I was trying to do some editing in the menus. I tried to edit the file adventurous-menus.php and got this error message:

Parse error: syntax error, unexpected ‘”UTF-8″‘ (T_CONSTANT_ENCAPSED_STRING) in /home/content/p3pnexwpnas04_data03/95/2292195/html/wp-content/themes/adventurous/inc/adventurous-menus.php on line 63

Then I downloaded the theme and opened the adventurous-menus.php file in notepad and copy pasted it in the Edit themes page but I am still getting the same error message. Now I am stuck I cannot do anything. Please guys help me soon. Is there any way to undo the changes or reset the theme or apply a new theme. Note that I cannot go to my site also.

hello, have you just hijacked this thread?

I’m using the Maron Podcast Theme of Appendipity, with WP 4.0. I freshly installed the theme and Genesis Framework. I have 25 total plugins running just basic plugins, I deactivated them all and reactivate it again one at a time. What else could possible causing this issue?

    jack randall

    (@theotherlebowski)

well, a couple of things could be at play, the theme is a paid for theme so only they can really address any issues related to their themes, might be worth dropping them a line. also, if you’ve got 25 plugins on the site, some of them may not all be compatible with 4.0

they may work at a superficial level but behind the scenes they could be making a mess of things. check them all individually and see what version they’re compatible up to and when the last time the developer updated it…

beyond that i’ve pretty much exhausted my ideas. i’m still sure it’s a plugins conflict somewhere but i have no idea where or what…

good luck my friend, wish i could have helped more.

I don’t know what does it means.

I remove all themes that not in used, removed all plugins that are inactive and not being used.

try reverting you theme back to the default wordpress theme to see if that solves the issue.

    (@rodalvarez)

I already deleted the default theme, all theme that are not in use.

I have 3 domains hosted in one hosting. All of them have the same issue. And I checked them and all have cloaking stuff on Body class.

    jack randall

    (@theotherlebowski)

you can reinstall the default theme, it’s built by the same people who made wordpress so it’s perfectly safe and it’s also a diagnostic tool for exactly these situations. get the default theme back on there, activate it and see if the site exhibits the same issues.

    Thread Starter RodAlvarez

    (@rodalvarez)

Yes there is still problem with body class..

I reverted the 3 domains into Twenty Fourteen. All of them have issue like that.

    (@theotherlebowski)

well, the good news is that the size of the discrepancy has gone down!

can you please list all of the plugins you have on your site? both active and deactivated.

    (@rodalvarez)

These are the plugins that I’m using:

    Akismet
    Blubrry PowerPress
    Comment Redirect by Yoast
    Contact Form 7
    Favicon by RealFaviconGenerator
    Genesis Simple Hooks
    Google Analytics by Yoast
    Insert Headers and Footers
    Jetpack by WordPress.com
    SEO Redirection
Shareaholic | share buttons, analytics, related content
    Simple Social Icons
    Smart Podcast Player
    SpeakPipe – Voicemail for Websites
    Subscribe to Comments Reloaded
    WishList Member?
    WordPress SEO

I deleted plugins that are inactive.

if you’ve got ftp access to the server your site is on, download a copy of the Maron theme to your computer and then completely remove it from the site. if this doesn’t solve it then at least you’ve got your backup that you can re-upload.

i have a sneaking suspicion it’s that theme, even if it’s not active it might still be doing stuff…
