We are building a new website for our client, The Great Pumpkin Patch in Hayden, AL. When we install The Events Calendar 6.2.2 plugin, the WordPress Customizer breaks on all of the pages (even from within the Dashboard) and the only app we see is the Widgets app. Once we deactivate the TEC plugin, the Customizer works once again and loads all of the apps. We are running an OceanWP theme with Elementor Pro on WordPress version 6.3.1. Is anyone else having this issue?

  • Hello @bamadale,

Thanks for getting in touch with us!

I suspect there’s a conflict that’s causing the issue here. It would be good to test for conflicts. Could you follow the following steps?

    1. Deactivate all other plugins except for The Events Calendar Plugins.
    2. Switching to the Default theme.

Please read the Testing for Conflicts article before doing anything.?

Also, enabling the WordPress Debug feature may help diagnose this problem. You can enable it via wp-config.php or a third-party plugin WP-Debugging. We have an article about this, and I believe this will help you.

To be safe, we’d recommend conducting tests and updates on a Staging Server. Also, please keep a working backup of your website. Once done, do share a screenshot or screencast/error log of the results.

I hope that helps. I am exicted to hearing back from you.

Following your steps (which I’ve done before and I apologize for not deactivating / activating more plugins before I posted my issue) it appears there is a conflict between the Ocean Portfolio plugin and The Event Calendar. With TEC activated and activating Ocean Portfolio, the Customizer only showed “Widgets”.

    Thanks for the advice!

    • Deactivated all of the plugins except TEC and the Customizer worked.
    • Switched back to the 2023 Theme activated TEC and the Customizer worked.
    • Switched to my OceanWP Theme, activated TEC and the Customizer worked.
    • TEC, OceanWP Theme, Elementor and Elementor Pro and the Customizer worked.
    • TEC, OceanWP Theme, Ocean Sticky Header, Elementor and Elementor Pro and Customizer Worked
    • TEC, OceanWP Theme, Ocean Sticky Header, Elementor and Elementor Pro, Yoast SEO and Customizer Worked
    • TEC, OceanWP Theme, Ocean Sticky Header, Ocean Elementor Widgets, Elementor and Elementor Pro, Yoast SEO and Customizer Worked
    • TEC, OceanWP Theme, Ocean Sticky Header, Ocean Elementor Widgets, Ocean Extra, Elementor and Elementor Pro, Yoast SEO and Customizer Worked
    • TEC, OceanWP Theme, Ocean Sticky Header, Ocean Elementor Widgets, Ocean Extra, Ocean Full Screen, Elementor and Elementor Pro, Yoast SEO, Duplicate Page, FareHarbor, HubSpot, and OCEAN PORTFOLIO and Customizer BROKE! Only “Widgets” appeared.
    • Went back in, deactivated OCEAN PORTFOLIO and Customizer works once again. There were no other conflicts.
    • I have sent in a Tech Support report to OceanWP / Freemius as well.

    Hi @bamadale

Thanks for your confirmation and I’m glad you were able to find the plugin in conflict with our plugins.

If you have some time to review, that would be amazing!
