    Good morning –

When the Event Calendar plug-in updated this morning, our WordPress site crashed with a critical error. The e-mail from WordPress said:

    WordPress version 6.6.2
Active theme: Ananda Designs Child Theme (version 1.0.0)
Current plugin: The Events Calendar (version 6.7.1)
    PHP version 8.0.30

“An error of type E_ERROR was caused in line 27 of the file
    /home/354730.cloudwaysapps.com/rxzqbjsmeh/public_html/wp-content/plugins/the-events-calendar/common/src/Common/Contracts/Container.php.
    Error message: Uncaught TEC\Common\Exceptions\Not_Bound_Exception:
Error while making Tribe\Extensions\EventsControl\Hooks: nothing is
bound to the ‘Tribe\Extensions\EventsControl\Hooks’ id and it’s not an
    existing or instantiable class. in
    /home/354730.cloudwaysapps.com/rxzqbjsmeh/public_html/wp-content/plugins/the-events-calendar/common/src/Common/Contracts/Container.php:27

I can’t access the admin area, so manually installed TEC 6.7.0 and removed 6.7.1. I have deactivated all the plug-ins through terminal and when doing that, it says “PHP Fatal error: Uncaught TEC\Common\Exceptions\Not_Bound_Exception: Error while making Tribe\Extensions\EventsControl\Hooks: nothing is bound to the ‘Tribe\Extensions\EventsControl\Hooks’ id and it’s not an existing or instantiable class. in /home/354730.cloudwaysapps.com/rxzqbjsmeh/public_html/wp-content/plugins/the-events-calendar/common/src/Common/Contracts/Container.php:27”

I saw that people have had this issue in the past and it was resolved with a new TEC version. I am not seeing any reports of this being an issue for others right now. Does anyone have any suggestions?

    Hi @wavewatcher

    Thanks for reaching out.

We have received reports regarding this issue from other users, and our team is already aware of it. We are currently in the process of developing a fix, which we anticipate will be released soon.

In the meantime, please downgrade your Event Tickets to v5.15 and The Events Calendar 6.7.1 as a temporary fix. Also, please provide the name of your hosting provider. This will allow us to understand your setup better as we work on resolving the issue. Thank you!

    Hi Darian –

thanks for the quick reply. I have a couple of follow-up questions:

First, WordPress showed that the version of Calendar was 6.7.1, so I downgraded to 6.7.0. Are you saying I should downgrade to 6.7.1? And downgrade Tickets to 5.15?
Also, it appears that this type of issues is happening repeatedly, as I saw past posts with similar messages. Do you guys have a sense of why this keeps happening? Lastly, will you post here when the fix is released?

    Thanks!

    Hi @wavewatcher,

Thanks for your feedback. Today we have launched the 6.8.0 version today, that comes with several fixes and improvements. Kindly try the upgrade to see if this fix the issue. Also if you have the Event Tickets plugin, please update it to the 5.16.0.1 last version.

Sometimes errors like these appear in certain scenarios where there may be other elements in other versions that cause conflicts. That is why we always release new versions to improve compatibility and avoid these issues.

Please let us know how this goes.
