I have followed the instructions by disabling all plugins, activating the basic theme, to be able to restore the sire. However, it seems that there is a problem in the WP core affecting the layout of both the site itself and the WP control panel layout functions. The message “Warning: If you can still read these words after the page finishes loading, then there is a JavaScript or jQuery problem in the site. Go here for more information.” remains and all items show up without layout in the Updraft control panel as a long list, and only text links working, buttons does not respond. (applies to all other plugins too when activated).

Any suggestion on how to solve this so I can recover the site from my backups?

    Hi,

Can you send us your php error logs?

Can you also open the JS console when you see the error message(please see here for instructions) and take a screenshot of any errors that you see in the JS console?

    Apologies, here they are: https://updraftplus.com/faqs/how-do-i-open-my-browsers-developer-tools/

Unfortunately, forum rules means that we are not allowed to ask you to send anything into us.

You can upload the images /logs to something like we transfer so that you can specify a time frame in which they can be viewed so that they are automatically deleted.

    Thank you for your reply.
I chose to follow your recommended recovery as listed on the UpdraftPlus website, namely archive the old site, reinstall the WordPress core and the UpdraftPlus plugin and recovered the site that way!

Thanks to UpdraftPlus, I managed to recover my site with all the member profiles, and the site is up and running again.

Thank you UpdraftPlus for your support and providing an indispensable tool!
