WordPress cookies

And unfortunately, I’m not talking about the nice tasty kind. I have tied searching for a solution but there doesn’t seem to be a clear answer.

Basically, I am about to cut up a template for a client, however they specifically mention that the site must comply with the EU Cookie Law.

Their site will be fully powered by WordPress and they will have a news section on one page and a contact form. Users can’t post comments to any articles/news features. As far as I am aware, the site will not collect any user tracking information and will have no ads on it. This site will be purely informational for the user.

Does this law still apply? If so, what cookies are there on WordPress that the user receives?
