Hi, I see that your plugin is currently not compatible up to the most recent WordPress core version. Are you planning on making it compatible soon? I’m using your plugin on some of my WordPress site and would like continue using. However, if you’re not planning on keeping the plugin compatible with the most recent WP core version, I’ll need to research a new/different plugin that’ll provide the same functionality as yours.

    Thanks for considering!

    Hey JD.

The plugin works fine with the latest version of WordPress.

Since 4.7, you have the possibility to set your admin language from your profile page, so you might not even need this plugin.

I’m still deciding if I should add a notice when installing this plugin on later WordPress versions, or to change it under the hood to work with the newly provided core functionality, but the plugin still works and will be updated eventually.

    Thanks for your comment.

    Hi Stanislav,
Thanks so much. What do you mean by “Since 4.7, you have the possibility to set your admin language from your profile page, so you might not even need this plugin.” Where would I do this? And this is the exact same functionality your plugin offers?

The thing I like about your plugin is that I can set the language of the WordPress installation to one language and then still be able to see thing in English.

For example, I manage, among many English sites, a Spanish site and a French site. For these, I like to set the language to Spanish or French, respectively, in the WordPress General Settings > Site Language. And then, with your plugin, because I’m not a native Spanish/French speaker, I like to switch over to English when working in the backend.

For clarification on this issue… currently, you can have one language for the website and another one for your “user account”.

The language that is set in Settings > General > Site Language will affect the front-end and any person that registers to the website.

But administrators can change the language of its admin pages at Users > Your Profile (or Edit my Profile). This change will not modify the language that is shown at the front-end.

This plugin works perfectly and may have its uses… but right now it seems that it is a bit redundant.
