    Hi there,

I linked my website to the wordpress reader using the jetpack plugin. I had problems with the migration as people stopped receiving notifications. This was resolved by deleting all my subscribers and asking them to follow me once again.

Everything seemed fixed, but when I unfollowed myself and tried following again, I got an error due to a link to a feed that I recognize to be my old temporary URL. I disconnected jetpack and connected it again without success.

Is there anything I can do to fix this? In the wordpress general settings the domain is set to https://navinspoems.com and same goes for the .htaccess file. Where does wordpress.com or jetpack get the information on the temporary url?

    Thank you in advance.

    Hi there!

Do I understand that you have connected your account via Jetpack previously, using a different address? What URL was that?
For Jetpack, changing the URL would mean a new Jetpack site, unrelated to the previous one. Where exactly do you see the error you mentioned?

    Hi again!

The account was never meant to be connected to a temporary URL, however, for some reason Dreamhost kept switching back and forth between the domain name and a temporary location they had setup. You can see the temporary location in the image included in the initial post.

The error occurs in the WP reader section where subscribers are managed. It happens when I remove and add myself as a subscriber. The strange thing is that people can subscribe normally by pressing the blue button on the website.

I previously contacted Dreamhost about seeing the temporary url in the jetpack log. They responded that they had fully disabled the temporary URL in response, and since that time it indeed was no longer visible in the jetpack log, so I thought the issue had been solved.

Is it true that the username and password of the self-hosted blog need to be exactly the same as the WP user/pass? I gave my credentials to Dreamhost before the migration, but even so they used a different username for the setup.

    Thanks for your help!

Thank you for all the details, I have missed the screenshot from the original post, sorry for that.
I have tried subscribing to your feed on Reader and had no problems doing that, no error message or mention of old temporary URLs. Try to log out from your WordPress.com account, clear your browser’s cache and log back in. Do you still see the error message after that?

Did you perchance activate Jetpack while you were on the temporary domain? There’s nothing built in on our end that would force it with Jetpack in any way, unless you’re using DreamPress and hit the toggle for activating Jetpack pro which does not appear to be the case.

Thanks for your reply. I have contacted Dreamhost as they keep activating the temporary url for some reason. They’ve promised this time it would be fixed. This ticket can be marked as closed.
