Embeds use the oEmbed process, so the source site needs to be an oEmbed server. The presence or accuracy of OG tags is irrelevant (important for social media though). You should be able to embed content from at least www.remarpro.com sites. It seems some wordpress.com sites don’t serve oEmbed outside of wordpress.com itself. Embed success of one’s own content doesn’t mean outsiders can do the same.

Anyway, the issue is over at wordpress.com. You cannot embed content if their oEmbed server will not send it. I tried embedding a few different wordpress.com sites. None of them would embed for me as well. There’s nothing we can do on our end.

Thanks, I had no idea that WordPress.com content would not embed in a self-hosted WordPress site.

The documentation for WordPress Embed reads:

With the WordPress Embed block, you can embed WordPress posts into your posts and pages.

    and

Find the URL of the WordPress post you want to embed in your page. Copy the link of that post from the search bar.

There are no asterisks or indications that this excludes WordPress.com.

I did my own test as confirmation. One WP.com, you can embed WordPress from anywhere (.com and .org)

but on my self hosted WordPress aka .org I cannot embed WordPress from WordPress.com

    That is odd.
