I have disabled the “Allow users to log in with WordPress.com” numerous times, but every time I update the plugin, it re-enables the option. Can we get that fixed because I do not want users using this option.

I’ve definitely not run into that problem myself, I also have it disabled on some of my sites.

Are you sure that you aren’t using https://developer.jetpack.com/hooks/jetpack_get_default_modules/ to declare it a default module (and therefore activated every time Jetpack installs)?

Hello! Thank you for asking this question.
I am having the same issue, although I am unclear what the resolution is and how to solve it.

If I can get a dummy-breakdown of how I can fix this – it would be so greatly appreciated.

I’d ask the same question as earlier.

    Thanks for helping me, James!

I took a look at that link earlier – but truthfully I have no idea what it means. I am sure that is probably the case.
    Can you help me understand?

The hook would have most likely been set in either your theme’s functions.php file or a functionality plugin.

Once again James – this is a little above my current understanding. I did not change or alter any functions.

Do I need to go into my functions.php file and make some edits?
If so, can you instruct me on what to do?
Step by step may be helpful for all of us.

thank you for your time and help.

Well, if you didn’t make the change in the first place, then you don’t need to make the change now, as this is something you would have had to of changed in the first place. ??

So, perhaps this is just something stuck in our settings instead.

Please try deleting Jetpack specifically from the Plugins section of your blog’s Dashboard: https://jetpack.com/support/reconnecting-reinstalling-jetpack/#reinstalling-jetpack

This will clear out Jetpack’s settings, and it should work properly after a reinstall.

Okay! I gave that a try – thank you for helping us. I will let you know if anything changes or it reverts back ??

Hey, I am the original poster and this issue is NOT resolved. I have no custom functions regarding jetpack in my functions.php and I have endeavored to delete and reinstall the plugin, but the wordpress.com login option is still turning back on after a time. Please help.
