WordPress CMS for monthly online magazin

    I intend to integrate a cms into a monthly published online magazin.

    I now ask myself, if WordPress could suit my need.
    Until now the page is just a static html-page built with adobe dreamweaver (template based):

    Now the thing is, that every month a new frontpage is published with all the links to the different articles. within the articles there are also links to all the older articles published in preceding editions of the magazin.

    the old frontpages with all the working links should still be accessible, even if a newer version/newser frontpage of a new edition is published.

    do you have an idea, if I could solve that all with wordpress, and how
    I could stick to the older frontpages, and not just updating the old one with new articles?
    of course the newer one should just be set for the root of the site…

    I hope you get what I mean and that somebody has some ideas.

    Yep, you could do that either by just posts, and making ONE post show on the front page, or a static front page.

    what do you mean ‘by posts’?
    one post is of course too few.
    did you have a look at my link.

    there are ~ 9 articles with some intro-text and a picture linking to the whole article.

    I also thought that with a static frontpage this could work. but I still don’t really know how.

    How would you create a static frontpage, in which I could choose, ok ‘my new article 1 shows in placeholder 3’ while ‘my new article 2 appears in a bigger placeholder a little below’.
    do you think I could build something, where I could kind of ‘fill’ my frontpage with some content, just in wordpress?

    would be grateful if you have some more hints for me.

    Then you would post your articles as … posts and link to them off that front page.
