I recently installed Alex King’s clickable smilies script to make things easier when inserting smilies into my wordpress posts, however, instead of the actually smilies showing up on the dashboard, the text that is supposed to call them shows up. Why is this happening?

  • Isn’t that script for like WP 1.2?

Still works for 1.5.x and 2.x (with a little tweaking for the latter). If you’re seeing text, I’d guess it’s looking in the wrong place for the smilies (they moved between 1.5 and 2.0)

Alrighty, I added the changes and the smilies show up, however when I click them nothing happens. Could it have something to do with this:

“Note: You cannot have clickable smilies AND the WYSIWYG editor. If both are present you will be able to see the smilies but nothing will happen when you click them. You will need to switch the new editor off for them to work”

What happens if you turn off the WYSIWYG editor?
