• While writing a new blog post on my WordPress blog, I noticed that it is converting ‘?’ (checkmark) to ‘?’ (question mark). I am using the classic editor (not the block one).

I tried to enter the ? character in multiple ways like using the ✓ HTML entity also but as soon as I moved to the visual tab on the editor the character changed back to ?.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Hey there,

I can suggest a few things:

    – try the HTML decimal: “&# 10003;” (or “&# 10004;”) – make sure to remove the blank spaces between # and number

    – check with a different font

    – test deactivate some plugins and change momentarily your theme to a default one, to verify possible conflict issues

Thanks for your suggestions and help I tried them all but the issue still persists:

    – Both the codes “&# 10003;” (or “&# 10004;”) display a checkmark when typed from the HTML view but when I save the post the checkmarks turn into question marks(?)

    – I changed the font to system fonts like Ariel, Sans Serif but there was no change.

    – I deactivated all the plugins one by one, but the checkmark character still got converted into a question mark(?)
