WordPress Category Posts Plugin

Hello. Question about this plugin:

I want to show posts from category that single post is.

So
<?php wp_cat_posts($cat); ?>

Works in one of the theme (based on K2).

But i add this to new theme (based on hemingway)

and nothing show
