WordPress can’t see my self host domain

    When I try to organise a self hosting site, a message comes up ‘Couldn’t connect to the WordPress site. There is no valid WordPress site at this address. Check the site (URL) you entered. I have check and retried to no avail.

    I use Smart Hosting as my host and the domain name is rafhornchurch.uk Smart Hosting are checking this out, but they say that they don’t understand the message!

    Anyone got any ideas?

  • Did you point your domain name to your hosting?
    Did you install WordPress?
    Where are you entering a URL?
    What exactly are you doing when you see the message? (I went to your domain name and it just says 404)

    Hi Joy, thanks for the reply.
    Not a problem now as I have managed to sort it.
    The problem was that the initial page was loaded into the wrong file!
    Schoolboy error.
