• We have a major problem here:

    https://www.thesecondroad.org/tsr/

Everyday, the template resets to the default Kubrick template. Everyday, someone on our team needs to log into the control panel, click on “Presentation”, and then select the correct template (which in our case is called “muted_color”). Sometimes the template resets several times in one day. The client has several times been puzzled to go to the site and see the wrong template. I’d really like to fix this problem. Is there any way to get WordPress to use the template we assign to it, and not have it reset to the default?

Where is the info set that determines the template in use? Is this information stored in the database?

I have guesses about what is wrong, but I don’t know enough about WordPress to be sure.

  • It is quite likely a setting within the theme itself, though I’m not sure. What happens if you backup the default theme somewhere else(in case something happens you can restore it) and then remove it, will the chosen theme still go away?

What do you mean a setting within the theme itself?

No answers? No one has any suggestions about how to fix this?

WordPress resets to the default template when it cannot find the template you have selected. Generally this indicates some kind of filesystem or server problem on the host.

A workaround is to rename your template’s folder to “default”, renaming the old default to something else. Then when it resets, it just resets to the same theme.

    Thanks. That is helpful.
