WordPress built-in cron (recommended) seems broken

After installing mailpoet plugin and sending my first email to 800 users, if you guys cant help me with this im switching back to mailchimp.

Created thousands of mailpoet/cron/daemon-run in wyt_actionscheduler_actions

In wyt_actionscheduler_logs getting constant (5 – 10 mer minute) action created, action complete via Async Request, action started via Async Request,

Program executions went from 5,500 a day to 67,500
CPU usage went from 18,200 to 807,200

Switching off WordPress built-in cron (recommended) seemed to have stopped it
