WordPress Being Denied Web Server Access :(

1. Did you provider your FTP credentials (you usually get these from your hosting provider)?

2 and 3. Try setting the /wp-content/uploads/ directory to 777, does that work?

I’m having the same problem with mine. This has been a problem before but the solution provided prior to November 1, 2014 do not seem to working.

Setting it to 777 doesn’t work.

Unless you are running on the exact same server with the exact same site configuration, it could potentially be a different issue.

Ok, I recommend contacting your hosting provider about this. WordPress thinks the directory is not writable by the server, and they’ll be able to confirm this.

Check your .htaccess file permission. The owner should have rwx permission on it. The file is usually hidden in your root.

Whether or not .htaccess can be read usually has no bearing on whether or not an entirely separate directory can be written to.
