• After updating to 5.3 the appearance in the backend is broken and not showing correctly.

All plugin screens appear to be missing CSS. It does appear to be localized to the CSS of plugins. These are common plugins like Wordfence, Updraft Plus backup/restore… and without the CSS to correct the layout some of these plugins are unusable

I did switch the theme and it fixes the issue. The theme is a custom theme that I used a few years ago that’s on multiple sites, so there’s no support for it. I’m hoping that someone can help point me in the right direction for what would be causing this kind of conflict with the theme after 5.3 came out, so that I can correct the theme.

    Thanks!

This indicates your theme to be the error.

The theme is a custom theme that I used a few years ago that’s on multiple sites, so there’s no support for it.

If this was a custom theme, you may have to go back to your developer team and ask them to make the necessary change(s) to the theme.

I made the custom theme, I was just hoping you could point me in the right direction as to what changed in the current version of wordpress that would be conflicting like that so that I can find the issue in the theme.
