WordPress Backend (Admin Dashboard) Going Crazy, Not Showing Updates to Site

This happened out of the blue. Basically when I try to log into the WordPress backend through the user/pass screen it sometimes sends me to the install page stating that I don’t need to upgrade my database.

When I make changes in the backend (add/remove widgets etc) they don’t show up on the website. In fact, although a message pops up saying the changes were saved, when I go back to the dashboard it didn’t change anything.

Database corruption? Something far worse?
