WordPress backend 403 – Forbidden

  • Hello,

    I’m not able anymore to access the backend of my WordPress website. Every page like settings, media,… give the error “Forbidden – You don’t have permission to access this resource.” I already tried to remove .htaccess, I’ve checked file permissions by using FTP and disabled all plugins without any success. Does someone know how to fix this please?

    This is a hard one to solve. Because anything could be blocking the server. Hence 403 forbidden error is very vague, the error log may give you clue.

    If you have access to your server error log, generate the error again, note the date and time, then immediately check your server error log for any errors that occurred during that time period. If you don’t have access to your server error log, ask your hosting provider to look for you.
