WordPress automatically removes emails from content?

    Is there some kind of filter or other function in WordPress that removes email address’ from the content when creating a new site?

    I’ve a site with some contact information on them and every time I enter an Email address in the content area it removes it again.

    As far as I know I haven’t installed any plugin which will do that and there is no evidence that there is a filter in my functions file which do it either.

    Is there a reason why this is happening and maybe how to solve it so I can post my Email address’.

    Have you tried:
    – deactivating all plugins to see if this resolves the problem? If this works, re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).

    – switching to the default theme to rule out any theme-specific problems.
