Hi everyone, I want to create a website where people can submit and share their stories. I’d like to use wordpress for this because I’m very familiar with the template engine when compared to other cms’s.

I want to let people signup and share their story, it will then be put in a moderation queue for me to manually approve it. It will then be published like a normal post.

Is there any plugin or way to do this? I’ve been searching but can’t find an simple and elegant solution yet. It’s a cross between a forum (where members create new topics, or in this case, blog posts) and a blog. I don’t want to use forum software because I want the story to be the focus.

    Thanks,

    Peter

    No plugin needed.

    1) Allow Open Registration

    2) Make “New User Default Role” a ‘Contributor’

Users will now be able to register and write posts! You will retain the right to approve them and publish them ??

I would suggest using plugins like ‘WP Hide Dashboard’ and ‘Bad Behavior’ to limit the registrations by bots, personally.

You are an awesome person, I will try it out, thanks for the suggestions about the plugins too, yeah I don’t want anything too complicated, a blog post form is sufficient.

    Thanks,

    Peter
