WordPress as CMS with additional blog
-
I currently have a WP blog. I originally thought the separation between Pages and Posts would suffice for my needs, but it is becoming evident that I would be better of with a main site (www.site.com, containing what I originally wanted to have as Pages) with an additional blog subdomain (www.site.com/blog/).
So here is my problem. I would like to run the static site (www.site.com), which itself will have additional content added constantly, with wordpress as a CMS. And then I would like to run the blog (www.site.com/blog/) using wordpress as well. What is the best way to go about doing this? Should I install two instances of wordpress? Or would I be better off using multisite? Or is there a third option I’m not aware of?
The second part of my dilemma involves how to reorganize the blog content I already have on my domain (www.site.com) into the two separate areas (www.site.com and https://www.site.com/blog/) without losing anything, doing appropriate redirects, etc. Would one or the other solution lend itself better to this task?
Thanks in advance for any input!
