• Hi,

I’m a new WP user and got some questions before jumping into the bandwagon. I’ve been using PHP for 5 years and developed my own CMS. A new projet imposes me WP as the default CMS so I need some tips from you guys.

It’s kind of an extranet : there’ll be 3 groups of users. Anyone (the public), private and admins. I need to sort files (.doc, videos, pdfs, etc) and make them accessible to the users of the group “private”. Occasionnaly, infos/blog post and sometimes even files will be published for everyone to see (the group “anyone”).

I’m thinking about making 2 pages : one with the public posts, one with the private files. Is there a better way to manage this then adding the files to the “file page” via private posts?

Also, I’m curious : the files I put in private posts can be accessed via URL copy-paste. Is there a way to restrict this?

Thanks for you inputs, looking foward to discovering WP!
