This is probably related to how we locked down all API authentication requests in one of the recent updates since we wouldn’t be able to request a second factor during those requests.

You could try using the Application Passwords plugin which will create a dedicated password for your user that you then use with the WordPress app to authenticate. That will disable the two factor check.

The application passwords plugin didn’t resolve this issue.
