    Hey all,

Wordpress keeps giving me a ‘PHP Update Required’ message. I am running a multisite installation, with just a single website at the moment.

My site is hosted on Bluehost.

Bluehost Cpanel (on the left hand side) says I am running PHP Version 7.0.21 (or something close to that).

Wordpress says I am running PHP version 5.2.17

I have run PHP compatibility checker and everything passes except for Yoast SEO. It says it is too big to check, and the server timed out.

Any ideas on how I might kick WordPress into PHP7?!?

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

  • You will need to contact your host to determine why WordPress shows a different PHP version than your cPanel.

If you can install plugins, install Health Check.

What version of PHP does that plugin report at Dashboard > Health Check in your site’s Dashboard after activating it, and what version is also reported under the PHP Information tab there?

It is still reporting PHP version 5.2.17 in Health Check.

All sorted. Looks like it was something server-side. A lovely person fixed the issue via Bluehost Support Live Chat.
