• I thought it was just the way it ran until I logged into another site where I have admin privileges, and the post editing flew! It runs on my up to date site like I still had a lousy dial up, not the broadband cable access I have. Is there something I can check in my setup/tools tabs, through my dashboard, or is this something that needs to be addressed by my server host? If so, what should I be looking for?

  • Try some dashboard functions like deactivating and activating plugins, writing posts, inserting, media, etc. If you still find problems, please contact your host, as it could be because of server config.

    Krishna;
    Can you give me an idea of where in server config I/they should look? Is there an optimum setting? I’m served by Network Solutions who just survived a hacker attack.

    That’s it. By server config(uration) I meant restrictions imposed by your host because of the brute force attack.

    Yes, I understand that , but now it is running as slow as it was before the attack — weeks before, actually. How do I check on the server config so it can run faster, assuming that the slowness is not part of a host-initiated restriction?

    Have you tried:

    – deactivating all plugins to see if this resolves the problem. If this works, re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).

    – switching to the default theme to rule out any theme-specific problems.

    resetting the plugins folder by FTP or PhpMyAdmin. Sometimes, an apparently inactive plugin can still cause problems.

    Esmi — you’re a lifesaver! I renamed the folder, then logged in to reset, then went back in via ftp, and looked over the renamed folder’s contents, and deleted all the plugin folders I didn’t actually remember installing, leaving in the antispam and the math question applet for comments. Now the editing flies! Thanks for your time in helping me out. Thanks, to Krishna, too!
