wordpress admin and blog loading forever, never actually loads fully

  • out of all my wordpress blogs, this is the only one having problems. my sites are hosted on our own server. for some reason only this one has issues with slow loading (it never completely loads, icons missing from admin page, as well as links. for the blog page itself, background images never load) of the admin pages as well as the blog itself. This seemed to happen after I updated to version 2.8.6. Can someone help shed some light on this for me?

  • Disable all your plugins and switch to the default theme, just in case there’s something in one of them that’s incompatible with the newer version of WordPress that you’ve installed. You should be able to work out which one it is by re-enabling them one by one if everything is ok on the default settings.

    Otherwise, re-uploading all of the WordPress files again might help, just in case not everything has gone smoothly in the upgrade. Then just follow the manual upgrade process.

    Thanks. Idid all that, and still isn’t working, will try updating latest WordPress once again just to see

    when loading the admin edit page, it will get stuck at “completing 4 of 10 items” and just tries to load forever.

    I just found out that the WordPress admin and wordpress sites loads no problem in North America, so it’s just locally in Singapore. My friend back home in Vancouver Canada had no problems seeing my sites 100%. If I use VPN to access the web and load my pages, all is perfectly fine. So why just Singapore?

    Well, I’m here in Chicago and having the same problems.
