WordPress Address (URL) trailing slash issue?
-
I have a domain https://redsandstonehill.net registered with Just-the-Name & I have a question about web forwarding.
I have some server space with ipage.com:
J-T-N require a trailing slash.
I have installed wordpress in here:
& I have pointed my domain forwarding at this address & my blog page seems to function ok. However I want my readers to use & see my own domain, redsandstonehill.net. Within WordPress’s general settings I can change this – I understand that I have to put the new url into “WordPress Address (URL)” but I cannot have a trailing slash, so “Site Address(URL)” appears as:
I suspect it is this which has led to some 404s within WordPress admin because it is looking for:
ie adding another “reds” because of the trailing slash. So J-T-N says there must be a slash, & WordPress says there must not be.
I’ve read some other forum entries & some Codex pages, but I’m still new to all this & I wonder if i am missing something obvious.
Thanks!
