• My blog Word Press 1.5 and it is on a webserver running inside my home network.

When I’m at home and inside my local network, I view my blog with the URL https://192.168.0.3/charl/ in my browser and in Options I have to have to type the following or my blog appears without a style sheet and the links don’t work
    WordPress address (URI): https://192.168.0.3/charl/
    Blog address (URI): https://192.168.0.3/charl/

While https://192.168.0.3/charl/ is entered in WordPress address and Blog address, no one outside my network can see the style sheet and the links don’t work.

Outside my local network, I view my blog with https://www.charl.info and WordPress address and Blog address both blank.

My question is: is there something I can type into the WordPress address and Blog address fields that would make my blog work inside and outside my network? I’ve tried just typing / but it doesn’t work.

Thank you. I hope this makes sense.

  • You want to be able to use the domain name inside your local network as well?

No, because I know it can’t be done. The domain name is applied to the IP my network shows to the world and that IP isn’t used inside the network.

I just wish I had something I could put into the URL fields that would allow my Word Press to be readable inside and outside the network at the same time.

I had a similar problem with the first Word Press 1.2 blog I owned, but I went through and removed / so that it would (mostly) function and look the same inside and outside the network. Word Press 1.5 is very different to 1.2 and I don’t even know where to start removing / in 1.5.

Hi, I’ve been experiencing the same problem – i.e. whatever Word Press URI or blog address I enter, it seems to only be accessible externally OR internally, but not both.

Have tried leaving blank, using “localhost” to no avail. (Btw, don’t try to do this – it’s a headache to cleanup.)

Aurora -> you ever get this working? Anyone else have any ideas?

I’m having the same problem. Is there a way to give it mutliple server hosts or maybe load the stylesheet without the domain name in it?
