• Hi There,

Since we updated to WordPress 6.7 today we’re receiving an error of unconfigured bundle:

“This bundle isn’t set up for translation in a way we understand. It needs configuring before you can do any translations.”

    Also receiving the following errors:

    • Translation set not known in Theme
    • This is NOT a translation file. Manual editing of source strings is not recommended.

We have a template file (.pot) which has always worked fine, is this latest WordPress update the cause of these errors?

    Regards,

Apologies didn’t see a similar post about this before I posted:

Not everyone’s problems with WP 6.7 will be the same.

I think the changes in WordPress are preventing the auto-configuration logic from working. Previously Loco Translate listened on some filters which have now been removed. There may never be a fix for this, so I recommend you configure the bundle manually.

    Thanks for your response Tim,

It looks like the WordPress update cleared our Advanced configuration which we reinstated and as a result brought back our missing .po files.

However the translations are still not being pulled in and have noticed that under setup it now says: This bundle’s configuration is saved in the WordPress database which previously were auto-configured as mentioned.

We’ve also tried moving location for the translations so from custom to author and system.

Does anything else have to be done when relocating the files?

I’m surprised that a WordPress update cleared your config. These are held as site settings. Modifying site settings could break millions of websites, so I’d not expect this to happen.

See the pinned post for the latest on the loading problem

This WP 6.7 version causes a lot of errors in my Plugin translations.
