I upgraded to WordPress 5.9 and the Customizer on my Septera child theme shows up as blank.

Saw the same thing on a different site running a Hestia child theme. Downgrading to 5.8.3 fixed it.

Don’t know if this is solely a WP 5.9 issue or something wrong with these themes that needs to be updated for 5.9 compatibility. AFAIK, older themes are just supposed to default to the Customizer, not break.

This theme appears to be dead based on the lack of activity in this forum.

Regardless, I had only tested this yesterday in Safari 13.1.2 and Chrome 97.0.4692.99 on a Mac, and just assumed it was widespread based on the failure in Chrome.

However, today it’s working in Firefox just fine; and when testing in Chrome, it’s working there now too. Just an issue with Safari, which is technically an out of date version.
