WordPress 5.8 “No matching template found” in single and product archive pages

  • Since updating to WordPress 5.8, the products archive and single page are currently showing empty pages. When logged in as Administrator, the error message “No matching template found”. It looks like the recent WordPress 5.8 update broke BigCommerce’s templating system. I’m using the latest BigCommerce 4.14.0 which works fine with WordPress 5.7.2.

    As a temporary workaround, I’ve copied the files /templates/public/archive-bigcommerce_product.php and /templates/public/single-bigcommerce_product.php from the plugin into the child theme, which restores the products archive and single page.

    Not sure if the above is sufficient to fix the issue, or if there’s any other component not being loaded due to this bug. Requesting official support and fix from BigCommerce.
