• Hi,
    after installing WP 5.5 I go to the plugin page and notice the in the new column “Auto updates” none of the links are clickable: they only say auto updates disabled.

    The only place where I found “auto update” to appear is in the drop down under “grouped actions” in the top left of the plugin page.
    But when I try to select a plugin(s) and select the auto update option in the drop down and hit apply the status of the auto update does not change.

    What’s happening? I suspect cache or wp-config setting…

    Do you have any update-related define statements in wp-config.php?

    Hi Steven,
    I have this:

    define(‘WP_AUTO_UPDATE_CORE’, ‘minor’);

    Commenting out this line does not change the behavior above: still no clickable links.

    I found that disabling the mailster plugin fixes this problem.
    Mailster is a commercial mailing list manager.

    Good work! Please let the devs of that plugin know.
